Yes, I was quite ignorant before also.
I used to feed my dogs Beneful, one of the worst foods, and would just load them up with treats. Since then, I now feed them Evo, a top quality dog food, and walk them everyday.

At the moment we have a standard pet door flap that is held shut with just a weak magnet. We would like to somehow conver this pet door to one that locks and unlocks with a signal on the pets collar. The reason we just don’t replace the door with an electronic or magnetic field pet door is because the door is built into a wall and is very difficult to takeout. I’ve tried searching on google for a pet door conversion kit or anything similar but have had no luck.

If you cannot convert the whole door assembly, buy what would be the replacement locking mechanism for the door that you would like to install and retrofit it to your existing door

For me, my dog is called Motley and is an English Cocker Spaniel. His name is a word Shakespeare made up, which is a colourful costume worn by a court jester. He was named that because he has black, chocolate, tan and cream fur.

Well my dog is named Tiger lol I was little when I got him, & my mom suggested naming him “Bear”.. I didn’t like it but of course it made me think of other animal-related names & I insisted that he be named Tiger. 
Kaika, the stray female I’m housing, a friend of mine came up with her name.

Our vet clinic is interested and having their own personal trainer for dogs. So any of our clients’ pets have behavioral issues they could be dealt with at one place.
The trainer would get tips, hands on training, follow ups.

When I got my Bull-mastiff puppy, I knew she was going to be a big dog. So as soon as she turned 3 months old, I signed up for a puppy obedience class, two lessons a week for 4 weeks for $ 400.00. If some lesson, like stay didn’t hold, she got one retraining session for free. She will turn 7 years old in Feb. and still knows and obeys all her commands. I consider it money well spent.
I have known people that were having behavioral problems with their dogs and either didn’t know a trainer or didn’t have time to take a class with their dog. The dog ended up left in the yard 24/7 with very little interaction with the owner or given to animal control or dumped.
I love the idea of a vet clinic with a trainer on site. My trainer’s price was very reasonable, so $ 50.00 a session would be affordable for most dog owners. To train an adult dog in my area can cost from $ 1600. to $ 2000. Most owners won’t pay $ 200. or more for 1 session with a trainer.

It is advised that when wanting a pet, it is best to adopt at a shelter or adopt one from a reputable breeder. Pet store pets come from puppy mills and buying a pet from a pet store is supporting puppy mills.
But what happens to the pets if the pet store shuts down? Are they put in animal shelters? If they’re going to end up in animal shelters anyway, isn’t purchasing a pet “saving” it?
